What's Changed

We've added an extra validation step when you enter pay period dates for the first time

Enhanced Date Entry Process

  • New confirmation prompt appears after you enter your pay period dates

  • Verify your dates before the system saves them

  • Edit and correct any mistakes immediately if needed

  • Prevent issues that could occur from incorrect date configurations

Improved Error Prevention

  • Catch mistakes early - the system alerts you to potential issues at the point of entry

  • No more rollbacks - avoid having to start over due to date errors

  • Streamlined setup - get your pay periods right the first time

How the New Validation Works

Setting Up Pay Period Dates

  1. Enter your pay period dates as you normally would.

  2. Review the confirmation prompt that appears after date entry.

  3. Check that your dates are correct:

    • Start date is accurate

    • End date is accurate

    • Date format is correct

    • Pay period length makes sense for your business

  4. Choose your next step:

    • Confirm if the dates are correct to proceed

    • Edit if you need to make changes

What to Check During Validation

When the confirmation prompt appears, verify:

  • Date accuracy - Are these the correct start and end dates?

  • Date format - Are the dates in the expected format?

  • Pay period cycle - Does this match your intended pay schedule?

  • Logic check - Do the dates make sense for your payroll cycle?

Benefits of This Update

  • Accuracy from the start - get your pay periods right the first time

  • No more restarts - avoid having to go back and fix date errors

  • Confidence - know that your dates are correct before proceeding

  • Time savings - prevent delays caused by incorrect configurations

Common Scenarios This Helps With

Before the update:

  • You might enter incorrect dates and not realise until later.

  • You'd need to contact support to fix date errors.

  • You'd have to restart your setup process.

After the update:

  • You catch and fix errors immediately.

  • You can correct mistakes yourself without support.

  • You complete the setup smoothly without interruptions.
