Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security, used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. It requires the user to first enter their username and password, then they are required to provide a second piece of information, usually from a separate device like a smartphone or tablet, to confirm their identity. This means that if someone’s password is compromised, the chances of someone else having the second-factor information is highly unlikely.
There are currently no desktop authenticators on the market, therefore we advise to use a smartphone for 2 factor authentication.
Configure two-factor authentication (2FA) on desktop
I would like to use a desktop application for 2FA.
