What's new?

This release updates the system to automatically populate the 'TaxWkOfApptOfDirector' field in the Full Payment Submission for company directors who were appointed after week 1 of the current tax year. This change ensures compliance with HMRC reporting requirements and improves the accuracy of director appointment data.

Key Changes

Tax week of appointment

  • The field 'TaxWkOfApptOfDirector' will now be populated with the tax week number when a director is appointed after week 1 of the tax year.

  • The tax week number corresponds to the week in which the director was appointed.

The field will be populated or not depending on the following cases

  • Field included: The field is populated when the director's appointment date or start date is within the current tax year, or if they were a director at some point in the tax year.

  • Field not included: The field is not populated if there’s no valid appointment date or start date, or if the appointment was made in a previous tax year, or in a future tax year.

Tax week calculation

  • The tax week number is calculated automatically based on the director’s appointment date. For example, an appointment on 28/04/23 will result in the field being populated with ‘4’ (indicating the 4th tax week).

Impact

FPS Reports: This update applies to both regular FPS and correction FPS submissions, ensuring that the correct tax week is reported for directors appointed mid-tax year.

Profile Setup: Payroll administrators will need to ensure that the 'Date Appointed' field is updated in the team member's profile for directors appointed after the start of the tax year.
