As part of the new Average Holiday Pay Report, we’ve included helpful information and example calculations to assist users in understanding how the report is generated and how to interpret the data effectively.
Overview
The Average Holiday Pay Report provides a breakdown of average weekly pay for each team member to assist with holiday entitlement and average holiday pay calculations. This report gives you the foundation data needed to manually calculate holiday payments according to your company's requirements.
The report generates average weekly pay breakdown for each team member. The system provides the data, but you will need to calculate individual holiday entitlements based on the average weekly pay figures manually.
Report Column Descriptions
Included Weeks: The total number of weeks included in the report. For monthly payrolls, this may appear as a decimal.
Excluded Statutory Weeks: Weeks where the employee received statutory or occupational pay (e.g. SSP, SMP). These are excluded from average calculations. This may show as a decimal for monthly payrolls.
Excluded Unpaid Weeks: Weeks where the employee had no earnings at all. These are also excluded and may appear as decimals for monthly payrolls.
Total Gross Pay: The total gross earnings during the period covered by the report.
Total Gross Pay for Average: The gross pay used in the average calculation, excluding any ineligible pay elements.
Average Hourly Pay: The employee’s average hourly rate based on their pay and hours. Calculation may vary depending on pay type, especially for monthly payrolls.
Average Hours per Week: The average number of hours worked per week. This may also vary based on pay type.
Average Weekly Pay: The key figure used in the report – calculated by multiplying average hourly pay by average hours per week.
Note: Some rounding is applied to improve readability. As a result, the average hourly pay and hours per week may not multiply exactly to the average weekly pay but are provided to help you understand how the figure is calculated.
