You can download the warnings and errors from the Rotaready Updates page as a comma-separated values (CSV) or Excel file. The file puts the messages from every event in one place, which is far quicker to work through across a full pay period than reading each event on the page.

Open the Rotareach Updates page

  • Click Team, then click Rotaready Updates.

Apply filters before exporting

Before exporting, use the filter options at the top of the page to narrow down the data.

  • Date range: Select the period you want to export. The range applies to when events were received, and the end date is included.

  • Severity: Narrow to the levels you want. The four levels are Info, Warning, Error and Critical.

  • Event type: Filter by a specific event category if needed.

  • Status: Filter by outcome.

Download the export

  1. On the Rotaready Updates page, click Export.

  2. Choose Export to CSV or Export to Excel.

The Excel file is produced in the older .xls format, which opens in Excel and in Google Sheets without anything extra.

A progress indicator will display while the file is being prepared. Once complete, the file will download automatically.

📌 Note: For large exports of 3,000 or more rows, allow up to 30 seconds for the download to complete.

What the export contains

Each row represents one event, not one message. Where an event carries several messages, they are all placed in a single Message cell together rather than split across rows.

Column

Contains

Date

The date the event was received

Time

The time the event was received

Event Subject

The employee the event concerns

Mapping Status

Whether the employee is mapped

Event Type

The type of event

Status

The event's outcome, such as Successful or Failed

Severity

The highest severity present on the event

Message

Every message on the event, together in one cell

Message Level

The severity of each of those messages, in the same order

Use the Severity column

🤓 Tip: Sort or filter on the Severity column, not Message Level. Message Level holds several values in a single cell, so it does not sort or filter usefully. Severity gives one value per row and brings Critical events to the top.

⚠️ Important! Dismissed messages are excluded from the export altogether. A Critical message that has already been dismissed will not appear, so the export shows what is currently outstanding rather than everything raised during the period.

Export before you try

If you need the original detail for an event, export it before you retry anything.

⚠️ Warning! Retrying an event replaces the messages recorded against it. Once a retry has run, the earlier messages are gone.

Recommended reconciliation workflow

Follow these steps to reconcile a full pay period.

  1. Click Team, then click Rotaready Updates.

  2. Set the Date range to cover the full pay period.

  3. Export to Excel.

  4. Sort or filter on the Severity column and deal with Critical items first.

  5. Work through failed events next, because the data has not transferred for those.

  6. Review successful-with-warning events, grouping by employee to avoid counting the same issue repeatedly.

  7. Confirm any that require action in Paycircle, and correct the cause in whichever system holds it.
