The Paycircle Payroll Report now includes a summary view option.
Summary view: groups every pay element into a small set of category totals, so you can review and approve payroll without scrolling through a column for every individual pay element.
Detail View: shows every element as its own column and remains available whenever you need it.
To find the report, follow the steps below.
Click Payroll, then click Processing.
Click Reports, then click Paycircle Payroll Report.
đ¤Tip: Use the toggle at the top of the report to switch between summary and detail view.
What's in the summary view
Summary View totals pay elements into the following categories:
đNote: Each column shows the combined total for that category, per employee.
Regular Shifts.
Holiday.
Rolled Up Holiday Pay, shown separately from Holiday.
Sick Pay / SSP.
Overtime.
Other, used for any pay element that doesn't fall into the categories above.
Switching between views
Use the toggle at the top of the report to move between Summary View and Detail View at any time. Totals in both views are calculated from the same underlying data, so category totals in Summary View always match the sum of the individual elements shown in Detail View.
Exporting the report
When you export the report to Excel or CSV, the export reflects whichever view is active at the time. Summary View exports the category columns only; Detail View exports every individual element column.
Helpful hints
Summary View groups elements by their category name. For grouping to work correctly, pay elements should be named clearly and consistently in Paycircle, for example, distinguishing âRegular Shiftsâ from âOvertime.â Elements with unclear or generic names may be grouped under Other.
This applies to the Paycircle Payroll Report only. Other report types are not affected.
Summary View only changes how the report is displayed and exported â it does not change any underlying pay element data.
Use Summary View for day-to-day payroll approval and reconciliation, especially for larger companies or bureau setups with many pay elements.
Switch to Detail View when you need to check or query an individual pay element.
Review your pay element names periodically to make sure they're grouping into the category you expect.
