Some workplace pension providers can be automated on Paycircle. Paycircle has direct API’s with NEST, People’s, and Smart, and connects to Aviva, L&G, and NOW through PensionSync. Having an automated pension means that when the payroll is run, the pension information is automatically submitted to the provider. Similarly, any updates to the scheme, such as team members opting out, or group settings changing, will pull through into Paycircle from the provider automatically.
When a pension is automated in Paycircle, before any submissions can be made, or any information can pull into the payroll, the scheme has to be authorised. There may also be instances where a pension that was previously authorised becomes unauthorised, for example, the credentials used to authorise the scheme have changed. Whether you’re authorising a scheme for the first time, or reauthorising a previously authorised scheme, the process is the same.
Authorise an automated pension
To authorise a pension scheme, follow the steps below.
Click the Pensions tab, then select the scheme that needs authorising.
Click the Status tab, then click the Authorise button.
Enter the credentials for the pension scheme. These can be the client’s credentials, or if you are set up as a delegate on their pension account, your delegate credentials.
Once credentials have been entered, the scheme may take up to an hour or so to become authorised. Once the authorisation is complete, the pension will show as Active.
L&G pension schemes
It is important to note that you do not need authorise L&G schemes, as this happens automatically. If an L&G scheme isn’t authorising, and has used PensionSync with another payroll software provider, please contact our support team for assistance.
