How do I create mapping templates?

You can set mapping templates for import files, meaning you can automate the validation and data alignment process when importing CSV files for team and payroll data.

📌Note: When an import template is used, it automatically assigns team member identifiers. If you don't use a template, the teammate assignment can't be made.

Paycircle requires each row to be linked to a known team member. If this matching fails, all rows are automatically disabled to prevent importing data.

Set a default mapping template

  1. Click Team or Payroll, then click Import.

  2. Click CSV file, then drag and drop your CSV file.

    • Alternatively, to browse for the file, click and select it from your computer.

  3. Set your required template as the default.

Change or remove a default

  1. Click Team or Payroll, then click Import.

  2. Click CSV file, then drag and drop your CSV file.

    • Alternatively, to browse for the file, click and select it from your computer.

  3. Click Change, then clear the Set as default template when validating Team validation check box.

  4. Set your required template as the default.

Update a mapping template

  1. Click Team or Payroll, then click Import

  2. Click CSV file, then click Next.

  3. Click Update mapping.
