Switch between test and live mode

Within Paycircle, you can run periods in both test and live mode. To do so, watch the video or follow the steps below:

Test mode is for when you want to perform test payroll runs, before making submissions. Once you're finished testing, you can switch to live mode.

​Note: By default, new companies are in test mode.

In test mode, you can perform calculations as normal, however, you don't make any submissions to HMRC or pension providers. You also don't generate payslips, send payslip emails, and retrieve electronic tax updates from HMRC.

If you've run a period in live mode, you can no longer revert the company to test mode.

While in test mode, to live mode, as a Paycircle administrator, in the banner at the top of the company, click Switch to Live mode.

While in live mode, to change to test mode, click Switch back to Test Mode in the banner.
