When a team member works different hours each period, but has a set rate, or multiple set rates, you can set them up as hourly paid team members. This allows you to save different rates to their Pay information, and set Standard hours against each rate as required. To set these up, watch the video or follow the steps below.
Setting up hourly rates
To set up a team member to be paid hourly, follow the steps below.
Click the Team tab and select the relevant team member.
Click the Infomation tab then within the pay information area, click Edit.
Choose Paid hourly from the drop-down list. You will then need to enter at least one standard hourly rate. If they have a set of hours they usually work, these can be added against the rate as Standard hours.
To add another rate record, simply click the Add an additional rate button. If you need to delete one of the rates added, select the bin icon next to the rate. When you’re happy everything is correct, click Save.
Updating hours for the Current period
If you have set Standard hours against a rate, this will automatically pull into the current period every time you run payroll. If, for whatever reason, their hours differ from the standard, or they don’t have a standard number of hours, you can edit these as required for each period.
To do this follow the steps below.
Click into the current period and click the Team tab.
Click the blue Add button, then select Hourly totals. This will show all the hourly paid team members, along with their individual rates and hours.
To edit their hours against each rate in the current payroll period, simply use the plus and minus buttons against the box, or type in a number of hours worked for each rate. When everyone has been updated, click Save.
