Note: To add currencies to a company, you’ll first need to ensure that you’ve turned on the Expats module.

Add currencies

To start adding currencies to a company, follow the steps below.

Note: This is the sterling to currency exchange rate.

  1. Click Company settings then click Currencies.

  2. Within the International area, click Edit.

  3. Enter a name for the currency, and an exchange rate.

  4. Click Save.

Edit currencies

To ensure the exchange rates are up to date when running payroll, you can edit them at any time from the Current period. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Currencies button to view the current settings, then click Edit exchange rates.

  2. This will update the exchange rate for all salary and net pay figures in the current pay run, as well as any changes that have been added using those currencies.

Additional information

  • Editing currency exchange rates will not impact periods that have already been finalised. This includes the exchanges rates shown on PDF and online payslips, as well as in Pay Element reports where currency fields have been included.

  • Editing currency names will impact periods that have already been finalised, so these should not be edited once they have been used.
