Users can include work patterns when importing team members using a .csv file. This makes it useful for bulk migrations, organisation-wide changes, or other activities where manually updating individual employee records is impractical.

πŸ“ŒNote: This only applies to employees on standard pattern pay types. It does not support:

  • Non-standard or rotating patterns

  • Net pay employees

  • Hourly paid employees

  • Employees inheriting patterns from a pay policy

  • Zero-hour or variable-hour workers

Three new fields are available in the team member import. These fields have also been added to the preformatted download csv template.

  • Work Pattern: a 7-character string representing the team members' working days (Y/N for each day of the week, Monday to Sunday).

    • For example, an employee working Monday to Friday would be YYYYYNN

  • Work Pattern Effective Date: The date from which the work pattern applies.

  • Total Work Hours Per Week: The contracted weekly hours associated with the pattern.

πŸ€“ Tip: All three fields should be provided together for a complete import. Any cells left blank will be ignored, leaving the work pattern unchanged.

When a work pattern is imported, the employee's pattern type is automatically set to 'custom pattern'. You cannot revert an employee to the company default using an import. This should be done by updating team members manually.
