It is not possible to directly alter the available to date within a car benefit in kind (BIK) schedule, once that schedule has been processed on the payroll. To change the available to date, you will need to stop the current schedule and then create a new schedule with the same details and the required available to date.
Change the available to date
Open the relevant payroll company record.
Open the relevant team member record.
Click the Schedules tab.
Open the existing car BIK schedule.
Stop the schedule.
Click the action cog ⚙️ and select Company Vehicle from the dropdown.
Recreate the same schedule with the available to date you require.
Note: Use the same company vehicle details and available from date. You should also ensure you enter how much the employee has paid year to date on this benefit (you can find this information in their previous schedule).
The new schedule with the required available to date will now be created against the employee. This action will trigger the amend flag on the FPS submission to HMRC to ensure that HMRC knows it's an alteration to their existing record, rather than a new record.
