Error: 'This HMRC Submission ID is already in use'

I receive an error that this HMRC Submission ID is already in use when setting up a team member.

There are some instances where you need to onboard a team member already being paid on another software. The HMRC Submission IDs must be unique to each team member on the payroll.


If you receive the error message 'This HMRC Submission ID is already in use', you must identify who already has this HMRC submission ID by following the steps below.

  1. Click Team, then click the search icon.

  2. Use the drop-down list then select 'HMRC ID'.

  3. Input the HMRC ID into the search bar to locate which team member already has this ID.
