Within Paycircle, you can add notes against different payrolls. These might be used by employers to upload a file of their payroll changes for the period, to tell you about new starters, or to query something on a report. You might leave notes to other bureau team members to action something on a payroll, or to an employer to ask them to upload this period’s payroll information, or to tell them their reports are ready to review.

In a note, you also have the ability to @mention another user. This will notify them that a note has been left that is specifically for them to read.

@mentions for company admins

If you @mention a company admin in a note, they will be notified by an email. The email will contain a snippet of the note content, so it’s important to never add sensitive information to the note. To preview the email that will be sent, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Settings within the company, then click Email notifications.

  2. Locate the email called @mention notification, and click on the Preview button.

@mentions for bureau admins

As a bureau admin, you won’t receive an @mention email notification. Instead, you can keep track of all of your @mentions from within Paycircle. To do this, click on the notification bell in the top right corner, and see all the notes you have been @mentioned in in the my mentions section.

View other people’s @mentions

If you have been given access, you might also be able to monitor other team members’ @mentions, for example, if they go on holiday or are off sick. To view another team member’s @mentions, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the notification bell, then click Team mentions.

  2. You will see a list of all the team members whose @mentions you have access to.

  3. Click on the relevant team member to view their @mentions.
