Written by Lee Pearson
Updated this week

This error is triggered when a nominal code being submitted does not exist with the same configuration in Access Financials. The error message will highlight in brackets which nominal code(s) could not be submitted.

Check the assigned nominal codes

If you imported the nominal codes from Access Financials and edited any of those imported codes via the edit codes utility, you should check that the new code you assigned is valid and exists inside of Access Financials.

  1. Log in to Paycircle.

  2. Open the impacted payroll company.

  3. Click Settings, then click Journals.

  4. Click Edit Codes.

You should check that the nominal code shown in the error message matches a nominal code in Access Financials.

Note: Editing a nominal code narrative won't impact Financials integration, but editing the nominal code will.

Check the control account

It's possible that you may have set a control account which does not exist in the Access Financials system. You can check by following these steps:

  1. Log in to Paycircle.

  2. Open the impacted payroll company.

  3. Click Settings, then click Journals.

  4. Click Edit Format.

Make sure that each Control account code is correctly entered and matches a valid control account in your Access Financials system.
