Shift Breakdown on your payslip

Shift pay now shows as separate lines by shift type on your payslip. Previously, all shift earnings were grouped under a single Salary line with no breakdown.

Salary: £2,200.00 (all shifts combined, no breakdown)

Kitchen PM: £1,200.00

Bar AM: £600.00

Why this matters

This change gives hourly workers a clear and accurate view of their pay. You can now:

  • See exactly how much you earned for each shift type.

  • Verify that all shifts have been paid correctly without manually cross-referencing your rota.

  • Understand why salary no longer appears — you are paid by shift, and your payslip now reflects this.

What you need to do

Employees

No action is required. Your payslip will automatically show shifts broken down by type once this change is live. Your total pay remains the same — it is now shown with more detail.

📌Note: If your payslip previously showed Salary for shift earnings, this label will no longer appear. Shifts will now be listed by their individual shift type names as configured in Paycircle.

Payroll administrators

To ensure shift pay processes correctly, the Shift pay element must be present in your company pack in Paycircle. If the Shift element is missing, sign-off events will fail to process until it is added.

If you are using the Rotaready integration with Paycircle, ensure that the Shift pay element names in Paycircle match exactly the shift type names configured in Rotaready — including capitalisation and spacing. If a shift type in Rotaready does not have a matching pay element in Paycircle, that shift will fail to process.
